Easter break activities

Easter break is underway in Gothenburg. It’s had a wet and cold start, but according to the latest weather reports, temperatures will at least climb above 10 degrees Celsius on Thursday.

We have gathered a list of activities for school children in holiday mode:

Easter in Slottsskogen
The animal carers feed the seals at 14:00 every day, and the penguins at 14:30.

Plikta playground
Staff at the playground hand out bikes, table tennis rackets, boules balls, games and much more. There are also free activities for children and youths aged 6-16.
The activities take place between 15:00-17:00
Wednesday: pentathlon
Thursday: key ring workshop
Friday: visit animals in Slottsskogen’s zoo

The barbeque is on between 12:00-16:00.

Göteborgs konstmuseum
Print workshop
10/4-13/4, from 13:00-15:00
First a guided tour of for example the Bacon &Warhol exhibition, then experiments in the workshop with the children’s own pictures.
The material costs 20 kronor. Adults have to pay an entrance fee for the exhibition. Tickets are sold from 11:00 every day. There is no drop-in.

Röhsska museet
10/4-13/4 14:00-16:00
Easter break workshop: book cover design with your story in focus. Collect your stories in a book that you’ve designed.
The material costs 20 kronor.

Röda Sten’s workshop
10/4-12/4, 13:00-16:00
Easter break hang-out in Röda Sten’s art centre. Build sculptures and installations from different materials.

Actionparken (Close to Bergakungen)
The action park for skateboarders, BMX riders etc. has opened for the season.

Aeroseum
Airplanes, helicopters and much more, hidden inside a classified Swedish Airforce Bunker outside of Gothenburg. Lots of family activities during the school holidays.

Botanical gardens
Study plants and bulbs together with Botaniska’s pedagogues. From April 10-13. The tour starts in the shop at 11:00, 13:00 or 14:00.

Kåken (next to Härlanda fängelse)
Origami on Wednesday April 11, 13:00-15:00. Costs 40 kronor
Bollywood dancing on Saturday April 14. Costs 150 kronor, sign up online.

Universeum
Visit the new dinosaur exhibition on the roof terrace, some can both move and roar. After 12:00 in the workshop, children can create their own paper dinosaurs to bring home.
