11-11-11, one good-looking date indeed. Gothenburg's celebrations of the many "ones" start with 11 weddings at the same time in Domkyrkan. What time? At 11:11, of course.
When the wedding ceremony (open to 500 people from the public) is finished around 12:15, the newlyweds will travel down to The Wheel of Gothenburg for a champagne toast with a view, and entertainment from the Göta Lejon Youth Orchestra. Then it's time for wedding cake.
The cake will be served at Kungsgatan. 600 metres long, and close to 3 tons heavy, it will be as long as the street and big enough for 15,000 people to have a piece. The cake party starts at 15:00.
During the day, there will also be fashion shows, music entertainment and magicians at Kungsgatan, between Östra Hamngatan and Korsgatan.
To end the day, Gothenburg's Christmas decorations will be lit on the inner city streets at 18:30.
