The first direct flights from Gothenburg to Moscow will begin next month.

From May 21, Russian airline Yamal will have flights between Landvetter Airport and Moscow Domodedovo Airport three times per week. The airline’s Bombardier planes can transport around 50 passengers.

“Direct flights create opportunities primarily for tourism, but with time also for business relations,” says Olle Sundin airport director at Göteborg Landvetter Airport, in a statement.

Yamal Airlines have been operating since 1997. The company flies to 40 different destinations. Gothenburg will be its first in western Europe.
