Gothenburg's amusement park Liseberg opens its doors today for the Christmas season. From November 18 to December 23, the park is decorated to the hilt with millions of Christmas lights and everything else that makes Christmas special.
It has the largest Christmas market in Scandinavia, with around 80 cabins and stalls offering traditional Swedish Christmas decorations and foods.
Liseberg's many restaurants offer traditional Swedish Julbord (Christmas buffet). And in the Absolut Ice Bar everything from the furniture and the interior to the drinking glasses are made of ice from the Torne River in northern Sweden.
Some other winter features are the all-age ice skating rink, a ski-slope for children and a railpark. Of course it is also possible to meet Santa and a real-life reindeer.
Many of the 35 permanent rides and attractions are also open.
