Tomorrow starts the 36th Göteborg Horse Show at Scandinavium arena in Gothenburg. The world's best jumping and dressage riders will be in town for the World Cup series.
The dressage and jumping competitions are the last chance for riders to secure a place in the World Cup finals held in Holland in late April. They are the four-day event's main drawcard.
Record crowds are expected, according to Göteborgs-Posten. Tickets for Saturday, which includes the World Cup dressage event, are already sold out.
Besides the jumping and dressage, the Göteborg Horse Show includes a clinic with German show jumper Ludger Beerbaum as well as a number of shows such as dancing horses, Pas de Deux with two pony stallions and an agility show. There is also Scandinavia's largest equestrian fair, Eurohorse, held over the same days at the nearby Swedish Exhibition and Congress Centre (Svenska Mässan).
