Four Michelin-starred restaurants in Gothenburg

Linda Genborg 2012-03-14

Four Gothenburg restaurants received stars and several others are included in the 2012 edition of the renowned Guide Michelin. Fine-dining restaurants Thörnströms Kök, Kock & Vin, 28+ and Fond received one Michelin star each.

Sjömagasinet, a Gothenburg classic that recently changed ownership, is back in the guide this year, however it did not receive a star.

Nine restaurants in Sweden have been awarded Bib Gourmand, which indicates well-cooked food at a reasonable price. Two of the restaurants are in Gothenburg, Tvåkanten and Familjen. The other seven are in Stockholm.

Björn Persson, owner of both Kock & Vin and Familjen, is very pleased. He told Göteborgs-Posten:

"We are very happy and very proud. Of course we hoped this would happen, we work intensively to stay at the top and that's what we've done."

However, Björn Persson is surprised there are no new Gothenburg restaurants in this year's guide.

"Sjömagasinet, Linnéa Art Restaurant and Swedish Taste are some of those who are next in line to get a star."
