Four Gothenburg-based companies active in life science have received almost 5 million kronor in funding from the VINNOVA programme Forska&Väx (Research&Grow in English). The programme aims to strengthen and develop R&D among small and medium-sized companies.
After the first round of applications almost 60 million kronor in funding has been given to 49 small to medium-sized enterprises for research and development.
Arcam AB received 2.4 million kronor for its project on orthopaedic implants. Biopolymer products of Sweden AB received 1.5 million kronor for the development of an environmentally friendly rust treatment using protein from mussels. Orasolv Product AB, which is working on a tissue-based dental decay detector, and RTI electronics AB, which is developing a radiation detector, both received funding of 500,000 kronor.
