The ability to create, distribute and exploit knowledge is increasingly central to wealth creation. This applies to organisations as well as nations. On Sunday, the CIP Forum 2011 kicks-off in Gothenburg and this will be the topic of discussion for the around 400 world-leading experts attending.
The theme for this year's CIP Forum is "The New Wealth of Nations". Over four days innovation leaders, business representatives and representatives from public authorities will discuss how innovation and entrepreneurship creates growth. Gothenburg's strength at building effective entrepreneurial activities was a big plus for attracting world leaders to the forum, according to the organisers.
- Here in Gothenburg we are far ahead in this area, as long ago we realised the importance of close cooperation between academia, industry, the region and the city, says Ulf Petrusson, manager of the Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Gothenburg and one of the people behind the conference.
- Therefore it has been easy to get these world leading experts to the conference.
Specialised themes in the forum include: Constructing a Public/Private Innovation Infrastructure, Driving Business through Intellectual Property Management, Managing Complex Innovation-based Business and Entrepreneurship in a Global Knowledge Economy.
