Gothenburg based life science company Medfield Diagnostics has won an international design award for their stroke helmet, Strokefinder. The helmet uses a microwave diagnostic technology, which can give a quick diagnosis of strokes.
Medfield Diganostics won the first prize in the design competition National Instruments Graphical System Award. The innovative helmet can be used both for snapshot measurements to differentiate between ischemic (blood clot) and hemorrhagic stroke (bleeding in brain tissue) as well as to monitor changes over time.
- It is of course nice to be acknowledged for our Strokfinder. It confirms that we have been right, says Stefan Kidborg, development engineer at Medfield Diagnostics, in a statement.
