Man murdered on Hisingen

Linda Genborg 2012-03-05

A man in his 20-30s died at a café on Hisingen on Monday afternoon. The police report that he was exposed to very strong violence.

The police received an alarm around 16:45. A person had been seen lying unconscious on the floor of the café Black Diamond at Nordanvindsgatan next to Wieselgrensplatsen.

Ambulance staff tried to resuscitate the man but his life could not be saved.

The police are currently questioning the person who raised the alarm.

"We are questioning the person that raised the alarm, but other than that we don't have any witnesses. A couple of people who sat at a restaurant next to Black Diamond say they heard screaming, but at this stage we do not know if it came from Black Diamond," says Leif Rundberg, in charge of the preliminary investigation, to Göteborgs-Posten.

The cause of death is not yet known, but the police confirm the man was exposed to strong violence.

A whole block has been sealed off and the police are door-knocking in the area.
