Boys detained for brutal attack

Linda Genborg 2012-04-02

Four young boys have been detained on probable cause by the Gothenburg District Court for the brutal assault of a 61-year-old man on March 18 in Kortedala.

One of the boys has admitted to some violence against the man, but he claims that the man attacked him first.

Secrecy regulations have been imposed on the case, which means no one is allowed to comment on the matter. The defence lawyer of one the boys told the media that he will appeal the decision to detain his client. He thinks the boy should be placed in a youth facility (so called LVU home).

Three more boys are suspected of involvement in the assault but due to their young age, they have been handed over to the social authorities.
