There are long queues on the E 20 in both directions due to a traffic accident this morning. According to the police, there are no alternative roads.
The road is closed in both directions on the E 20 outside Mariestad after a major accident due to ice on the road.
"Five trucks are involved, they are lying all over the road," says police press officer Thomas Fuxborg.
The accident took place around 5:00 am on Wednesday, just north of Mariestad next to Lyrestad.
In addition to the five trucks, two cars are also involved in the accident. No persons have been reported injuried.
The roads in the area are very slippery, which is why there are no alternative roads according to the police.
Two cars collided at Tranemo on county road 1720 between Nittorp and Limmared around 6:30 am. Both drivers were taken to hospital. One of them is seriously injured according to the police.
