The Wheel of Gothenburg taken at midday on February 13
Over the past few weeks Gothenburg's giant ferris wheel has been dismantled, moved across town and reassembled. The big wheel now stands on the hill at Liseberg.
On New Year's Eve, the Wheel of Gothenburg as it is known, was in motion down by the harbour next to the Opera House. In late January began its dismantling and carting to Liseberg.
"It's been a furious pace. The last gondola went up yesterday," said Patrik Källstrom to Göteborgs-Posten.
While the actual mounting of the wheel has only taken a week, work is expected to continue until its opening day in April. Liseberg's CEO Andreas Andersen has previously told Göteborgs-Posten that he expects around 400,000 passengers each year.
