The prosecutor has dropped the investigation into a connection between Swedish football player/coach Marcus Allbäck and the Gothenburg bribery scandal. There were low-level concerns that work on Allbäck's private villa had been paid for by the municipality-owned Sports and Clubs Administration.
"Of course it is good that it is over. Naturally, it has been a very tough period," Allbäck told the news agency TT.
From the start of the investigation Allbäck was sure that he wasn't guilty of anything. But he told TT that the worst for both he and his family was that people believed that he had done something wrong.
