Three people are in remand prison following last week's arrests of two former executives at the tram operator Göteborgs Spårvägar and a former employee at a large building company. Private services for millions of kronor have been invoiced to Göteborgs Spårvägar.
The chairman and vice chairman of Göteborgs Spåvägar will meet the company's CEO Lars-Börje Björfjäll today to discuss the recent revelations.
One of the former executives is believed to have billed costs for the construction of her private villa to the Spårvägen. She is suspected of serious fraud, accomplice to serious accounting violation and accomplice to obstruction of tax control. The woman's colleague, a 41-year-old man, is suspected for the same offences. Together they fiddled with invoices so that the fraud could continue for a long period of time, from January 2008 to the end of October 2009, without detection.
The third man worked for the private construction company Veidekke. He is suspected of accomplice to serious accounting violation.
Charges against the three suspects must be brought no later than September 9.
