Former Chalmers students Henrik Blycker and Andreas Martsman have taken out the male rising star award in the 2012 Entrepreneur of the Year competition in Sweden. The pair received the award from Prince Daniel at a ceremony in Stockholm last week.
The jury's motivation:
"By combining academic talent, strong entrepreneurial spirit and the old craft tradition, Henrik Blycker and Andreas Martsman have created a company that is growing at record speed. With a product that is found in both aircrafts as well as Formula 1 cars Henrik and Andreas are aiming at laying the composites market at their feet."
Andreas Martsman and Henrik Blycker are the VP and CEO respectively of Borås based textile company Oxeon. They were former engineering students at Chalmers and Oxeon began as a project at the Chalmers School of Entrepreneurship.
In 2010 Oxeon also won the "Supergasell" award as the fastest growing company in Sweden. Over a three year-period it increased its turnover by 3,097 percent to 24.5 million kronor.
