Mingleevent. Thousands of new students will be welcomed to Gothenburg at the "kick-off" event at Trädgår'n on September 15.
The night will include live music from Timo Räisänen, one of Gothenburg's biggest indie-pop stars, Stockholm band The Pusher, garage rockers Satan Takes A Holiday and pop act Oh, Harry.
Kick-off is the biggest event in Student Göteborg, but there are many other things happening during the autumn. Like the kick-off event, most aim to be a meeting place for new students. For example, there is a "Speed-dating for friends" event at the Röhsska Museum, a treasure hunt in the city, workshops and sight-seeing tours.
The Student Göteborg package also includes a free visit to Liseberg and Universeum and discounted or free entry to events such as the Book Fair and local football matches.
The kick-off event is free for all new students at Chalmers and the University of Gothenburg. The number of places is limited to 2300. Check out the Youtube clip below for photos from last year's kick-off event.
