Business with focus on China. There is a fast growing interest in China among university students in Sweden. Many are going on exchange programs to China, or study Chinese in Sweden.
The School of Business, Economy and Law offer a business program with special focus on China. 100 more students applied to the program compared to last year. And last year, more than 300 people applied to the university's Chinese language course, which only has places for 60 students.
- It has to do with the interest for economy, and China's role for the world economy. China isn't a complicated culture for us. In the modern big cities in China it is easy to live and develop. Many ideas and thoughts are born during these visits, which then lead to future jobs for the students, said Nils Olof Ericson, who teaches Chinese at the School of Business, Economy and Law, to GP.
The School of Business, Economy and Law collaborates with the Fudan University in Shanghai. Astrid Wennerholm is one of the students who have placed part of their studies in China. She told GP:
- Economics and China is an unbeatable combination for the future. China is a good base for new businesses. Since my mother's company has contacts with China, this was an easy choice for me. In the future I hope to develop the company and collaborate with China.
