April 20-30. Construction week is underway at Chalmers. Over 500 students are hard at it preparing floats for this year's Cortége held on April 30.
The Chalmers Cortège is a big street parade that has been running since 1909. It is a big deal in Gothenburg and draws crowds of up to 250,000 people.
The event is organized by the students of Chalmers University. Last year the parade included around 500 students and about 50 floats and vehicles. Each float satirically depicts significant public events, both national and international, which have taken place in the past year.
Word on the street is that BP's oil spill and Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi will feature in this year's parade.
