In November Ryan Air will cancel the route to Milan, which was the only direct connection from these two cities. It is really a pity that this flight has been canceled and substituted by a connection with Rome, already operated by City Airline. Ryan Air was the only company that was able to succeed in establishing this route. Indeed, in the recent past, City Airline had also tried to establish the same connection, but the first flight was canceled due to the
limited amount of tickets sold.
Many Swedish and Italian people found it very convenient, although it was not scheduled on all days of the week. Milan is the Italian economical capital and Orio al Serio, very close to it, is the fourth most important airport in Italy. Many buses connect it directly to Milan, Bergamo and Brescia where you can find high-speed trains for Turin, Venice, Bologna and Rome, among others. In recent years, it has grown more than any other Italian airport and is located in a very strategic area, also considering its proximity to the Switzerland border.
Rumors say that Göteborg-Milan is a summer route, although any confirmation of a possible restoring of the flight next spring has not officially been given.
For those who would like to complain about the cancelling of this flight route,
a group on facebook has been created. It is just at the beginning but if we raise our voice, maybe somebody will hear it!
