Chinese Youngman has reportedly placed a new offer on Saab Automobile. The bid is said to be worth between 2.2 to 3.2 billion kronor.
The information comes from Dagens Industri. According to the paper, the CEO of Youngman Automobile, Rachel Pang, will hold a press conference in Stockholm on Monday. Dagens Industri's source says that she will be able to publically announce the bid on Monday.
The bid from Youngman is also said to include that some production will be secured in Trollhättan.
Youngman first wanted to acquire Saab Automobile together with Pang Da last year. But Saab's former owner GM stopped this deal as they refused to let Youngman and Pang Da access technology licenses to Saab models.
However, Youngman argues that they will be able to build Saab's current 9-3 model without GM's approval. Together with the production of Lotus cars, which Youngman already has a contract with, this would create work for more than 1000 employees in Trollhättan, reports Ekot.
The bankruptcy trustees, Hans Bergqvist and Anne-Marie Pouteaux, decline to comment on the process.
