It can be expensive to study abroad, but there is help to be had if you know where to look. Both the University of Gothenburg and Chalmers University of Technology offer scholarships specially designed for students from outside the EU/EEA area.

Here’s a quick guide to scholarships.

Chalmers offers a wide range of scholarships, often in collaboration with international organizations in the Gothenburg region, such as the Volvo Group. The applications  be made along with the application for Master’s studies at Chalmers.

The University of Gothenburg also offers scholarships especially designed for free-mover master’s students who have to pay tuition fees to study in Sweden. These scholarships cover the tuition fees, but not living and housing expenses.

More information about scholarships and grants at the University of Gothenburg, for both prospective and current students and researchers, is found here.

It is also possible to apply for scholarships through the Swedish Institute. The Study in Sweden website lists a number of different options depending on your country of origin and your field of studies.

Make sure you read up on the different conditions and requirements for the application process.

The Swedish Institute also has an extensive list of scholarships that are offered by organisations around the world for studies in Sweden.

Good luck!
